What’s Your Teen Doing This Summer? Help Them Make It Count with Camp Imua!

As summer approaches, you might be wondering how to keep your high schooler engaged, inspired, and away from screens for at least a few hours. If you’re looking for an experience that builds character, fosters compassion, and creates memories that last a lifetime—look no further than Camp Imua.

Each June, Camp Imua brings together children with special needs and student volunteers for an extraordinary week of fun, friendship, and adventure. We’re inviting high school and college-aged youth (ages 16–21) to apply as counselors for Camp Imua 2025, happening June 7–12—and we’d love for your teen to be part of it!

More Than Just a Summer Camp

At Camp Imua, volunteers are paired in counselor teams and matched with one camper for the entire week. Together, they’ll dive into a full schedule of exciting activities: helicopter rides, horseback riding, beach outings, dance parties, talent shows, and campfires under the stars. But beyond the fun, this is a chance for your teen to become a mentor, a buddy, and often, a hero in the eyes of a child who looks forward to camp all year long.

It’s a week filled with laughter, bonding, and growth—for both campers and counselors.

Your student will make lasting friendships not just with their camper, but with fellow volunteers who share their enthusiasm and compassion. Many of our counselors return year after year—some even go on to pursue careers in education, healthcare, and social work because of their experience at Camp Imua. It’s that impactful.

We understand that sending your teen off for a week-long camp can feel like a big decision. Rest assured, Camp Imua is run by Imua Family Services, a trusted nonprofit organization that’s been serving Maui County for over 75 years.

The week is fully staffed by experienced professionals, nurses, and camp coordinators who ensure the safety and well-being of every camper and volunteer. All counselors attend a mandatory training session and are supported every step of the way.
