Volunteer Spotlight: Tiffany Chapman

Some volunteers show up once. Others become part of the fabric of a place. Tiffany Chapman has been weaving her energy, creativity, and heart into Imua Family Services for over a decade—and her story is as vibrant as the community she serves.

Tiffany’s journey with Imua began in 2014–2015, when she helped launch and teach in the very first inclusion preschool in Kahului. That milestone alone would be a lasting contribution, but Tiffany didn’t stop there. Over the years, she has continued to show up wherever she’s needed—bringing her warmth and enthusiasm to events like the Keiki Holiday Festival, Oh Baby! baby showers, PYCC Beachfest, and she has helped out at the annual Imua Gala for several years now.

Her approach to volunteering is simple but powerful: be present, be flexible, and connect. Whether she’s greeting families, supporting event logistics, or engaging directly with keiki and parents, Tiffany thrives in roles that allow her to build genuine human connections. It’s no surprise that Imua’s core value of sharing joy with all children of all abilities resonates most deeply with her. Inclusion isn’t just an idea for Tiffany—it’s something she actively creates in every space she enters.

Originally from the Boston area, Tiffany’s path to Maui was anything but conventional. After attending Florida Atlantic University, she set out on a life of travel—working as a travel nanny, hospitality manager, and global explorer. A spontaneous trip to Santa Cruz turned into a one-way flight to Maui, where she felt an immediate connection. That serendipitous moment led her to Wailuku, where she now happily calls home.

Professionally, Tiffany’s work continues to center around keiki and families. She balances tutoring, private estate assistance, and nannying—always guided by her love for children and her ability to turn everyday moments into meaningful adventures. Her career is filled with remarkable milestones, including helping launch Hawaii’s first inclusion preschool and creating an award-winning children’s program at a five-star resort that ran successfully for ten years. Her work has even been featured in publications like the Wall Street Journal and Condé Nast.

At her core, Tiffany is driven by a genuine love for people—especially children. She speaks often about the joy she finds in their curiosity, wonder, and boundless energy, and it’s clear that this passion fuels both her professional and volunteer work.

Outside of Imua, Tiffany embraces life with the same adventurous spirit. She loves traveling—especially to tropical destinations—and has recently explored places like Fiji, Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand. Closer to home, you’ll often find her in the ocean, whether she’s paddling, swimming, snorkeling, or simply taking in the beauty of Maui’s incredible ecosystem.

Family also plays an important role in shaping who she is. With siblings, a beloved niece, seven nephews, and even three pet bunnies—Mochi, Coco, and Tallulah—Tiffany’s life is full of connection, care, and a deep appreciation for the relationships that matter most.

Through it all, Tiffany brings a sense of joy, curiosity, and inclusion to everything she does. Imua is stronger because of volunteers like her—and the many keiki and families she’s impacted along the way are a testament to that.
