Staff Spotlight: Marni Rozet

If you’ve ever attended an Imua Family Services event or visited the Imua Discovery Garden, chances are you’ve experienced the magic created by Marni Rozet. As our Events & Community Relations Manager, Marni has been bringing people together for over five years, fostering meaningful relationships with donors, nonprofits, and the community. Whether orchestrating a grand fundraising gala or facilitating animal visits at the garden, her passion for connection and impact shines through in everything she does.

Born in Pacific Palisades, California, Marni has had a lifelong connection to Maui. Her family first started visiting in 1978, and over the years, she spent months at a time living and working on the island. From waitressing at Leilani’s and El Crab Catcher (now Hula Grill) to making Maui her permanent home after her children went off to college, she has always known this was where she was meant to be.

Marni’s professional journey is nothing short of inspiring. A graduate of Pitzer College in Claremont, California, she also studied marketing and business at Obirin University in Japan. Her career in event management began in Los Angeles, where she launched events for AIDS charities, homelessness, and cancer research organizations. A defining moment in her career came while managing the “Dream Halloween” event for children affected by AIDS. Witnessing a young boy’s dream come true in the midst of societal fear and prejudice cemented Marni’s mission—to create moments of love and support that transcend barriers.

Before joining Imua, Marni served as the Executive Director for a Santa Barbara charity supporting families with children battling cancer. She also managed high-profile events in the entertainment industry, giving her firsthand experience in how awareness and funding can change lives. These experiences have shaped her deep commitment to making a difference, and we are beyond grateful to have her as part of the Imua ‘ohana.

Though her immediate family resides on the mainland—her children Nicoletta and Josh in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara—Marni has built a strong ‘ohana here on Maui. She credits her late parents as major inspirations in her life; her father championed funding and legislation for low-income housing, while her mother was an early advocate for childcare programs. Their dedication to social impact clearly lives on through Marni’s work. She is also grateful for her stepmom, Lois Rozet, whose support has been instrumental in both her transition to Maui and her work with Imua Family Services.

Outside of work, Marni is always on the move—whether it’s traveling to off-the-beaten-path small towns, kayaking, hiking, bicycling, or indulging in her latest obsession, pickleball. She’s also a seasoned horseback rider and wine enthusiast, having once owned a vineyard in California. With her adventurous spirit, she’s got plenty left on her bucket list, including wing foiling, surfing, and golf (especially now that she lives on a golf course!).
