Staff Spotlight: Diane Brittain

Diane Brittain, our most seasoned employee, brings a unique blend of warmth, dedication, and island spirit to Imua Family Services. For the past 15 years, Diane has been an invaluable team member, supporting programs for children ages 0-3 and 3-6, performing newborn hearing screenings for home births, and even covering reception with a friendly smile. Originally joining as a volunteer after retiring, Diane’s part-time role has become a natural extension of her generous, can-do attitude.

Diane’s impressive career journey spans over four decades. Starting as a secretary in a male-dominated industry, she rose through the ranks to become a branch manager, proving that hard work, resilience, and a little “plantation mentality” go a long way. Raised on Maui, Diane attended local schools and graduated from Maui Technical School with a business degree. Inspired by her mother’s persistence in education, Diane pursued her goals with determination, driven by a promise to make the most of every opportunity.

At home, Diane’s life is full of joy and family. Married for 59 years, she and her husband share the love of three children, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Fall and Christmas are her favorite seasons, and she shines at local craft fairs, showing off her holiday-themed creations. When she is not crafting, Diane loves to travel, especially to visit family on the mainland. Diane’s commitment, family values, and warm spirit make her a beloved part of the Imua Family Services team—and a true Maui gem!
