Imua Family Services Launches Real Action for Kids Initiative

Imua Family Services has taken a bold step forward by launching a collaborative initiative called Real Action for Kids, aiming to create a movement that ensures every child and youth in Maui County has the resources necessary to survive and thrive by 2030. This initiative encourages collaboration among community members, businesses, corporations and nonprofits, inviting them to contribute their talents, energy, time, and resources to support our future generations.

As outlined on their launch website, realactionforkids.org, Imua Family Services believes that together, as a community, we hold the power to make a significant impact. “We will be measured by the size of our dreams” says Dean Wong, Imua Family Executive Director. As a community we have already proven what we can do when we come together to act on behalf of our ohana. The organization emphasizes that we should not wait for government intervention to guide us; instead, we must take the initiative now to aid our children today.

“Everyday there is a decision being made that will leave our children behind, its time to turn that table. If we are not the voice, if we are not the advocate then who will be?” states Wong.

By pooling our efforts and resources, we can guarantee that every child and youth receives the essentials for their development and well-being. Whether it’s through educational support, mentorship programs, or access to basic needs, the message is clear: we must act collectively to better the lives of our children.

Let us come together in this vital movement and ensure that by 2030, no child in Maui County is left behind. The time to act is now, and by working as one, we can create a brighter future for our youth. Together, we can make Real Action for Kids not just a slogan, but a reality for every child in our community.
