Growing Together: Parentology Returns for a Second Cohort

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering, “Is this normal?” or “Am I doing this right?”—you’re in good company.

Parenting is one of life’s greatest adventures, but it can also be one of its biggest mysteries. Every stage brings new questions, new challenges, and new opportunities to learn alongside your keiki. That’s exactly why Imua Family Services created Parentology—a virtual learning experience designed to help parents and caregivers better understand child development, build confidence, and strengthen the relationships that matter most.

After an incredible response to our first cohort, we’re excited to announce that Parentology is back for its second edition!

The inaugural program brought together an outstanding team of child development professionals and caregivers from across our community. Families discovered practical strategies they could immediately use at home, gained a deeper understanding of how children learn and grow, and connected with experts who are passionate about helping keiki thrive. Even more importantly, participants found something every parent deserves: reassurance that they aren’t navigating this journey alone.

Now, Parentology returns with an even richer experience.

What truly sets Parentology apart is the remarkable team of local professionals leading the conversation. Returning for this second cohort are experts in pediatric medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, nutrition, behavioral health, early childhood development, and family support—each bringing years of experience and a shared passion for helping children thrive. Together, they offer families practical guidance, evidence-based strategies, and the opportunity to learn from some of Hawaiʻi’s most trusted voices in child development.

Building on the success of our first cohort, this second edition dives deeper into the science of child development while offering even more practical, real-world tools families can use every day. Through engaging virtual sessions, participants will explore the milestones, behaviors, and developmental stages that shape early childhood—all presented in a way that’s approachable, relatable, and easy to understand.

Each session is designed to be interactive, practical, and immediately useful. Rather than overwhelming families with technical language or textbook concepts, Parentology focuses on everyday moments that every caregiver experiences—from encouraging communication and navigating challenging behaviors to supporting healthy development through play and positive routines. Participants will leave each session with simple, actionable ideas they can begin using with their keiki right away.

Best of all, the program is designed to fit into busy family schedules. Because sessions are held virtually, parents can participate from the comfort of home while still engaging with knowledgeable presenters and connecting with other caregivers who are walking similar paths. It’s a supportive community where questions are welcomed, experiences are shared, and everyone leaves feeling a little more prepared than when they arrived.

At Imua Family Services, we’ve spent decades supporting children during the most important years of development. Parentology extends that mission beyond therapy sessions and classrooms by empowering the people who know children best—their parents and caregivers. When caregivers feel informed and confident, children benefit in countless ways.

Whether you’re hoping to better understand your child’s development, build stronger everyday connections, or simply gain confidence in your parenting journey, Parentology offers an opportunity to learn, grow, and be inspired.

We invite parents, grandparents, caregivers, and anyone who plays an important role in a child’s life to join us for this exciting second edition. Together, we’ll continue building stronger families, stronger relationships, and brighter futures—one conversation at a time.

Registration for Parentology Cohort 2 is now open, and space is intentionally limited to create an engaging and interactive learning experience. After an incredibly successful first cohort, enrollment is filling quickly, so we encourage interested families to reserve their spot soon.
