Registration will open January 2024!

This June marks the 47th annual Camp Imua! This year, Camp Imua will take place at Ke’anae Uka. Bus transportation will be available from Central Maui to and from Ke’anae.

At Camp Imua, we don’t focus on disability; we focus on our combined ability to discover and experience joy together.

Emphasizing fun, play, and engagement, campers are closely supported as they explore and nurture friendships with each other and our devoted counselors.

Camp Imua is a one-week overnight recreational camp experience inviting Maui County children aged 6-16 with cognitive or developmental disabilities.

Each camper is paired with 2 youth volunteer counselors who work together to provide one-on-one care and ensure a safe and happy experience.

designed for all personalities and skill levels, activities include:

Camp Imua is supported by the full Imua staff and headed up by a designated Camp Imua Coordinator. Our young adult leadership team provides mentorship and support to ensure everyone’s participation, safety and inclusive spirit.

Volunteer Counselors

Our volunteer counselors are between the ages of 16-22, and act as role models and caretakers for our campers. By modeling inclusion and kindness, counselors encourage campers to interact with their peers and to develop friendships.

Previous attendants of Camp Imua with a passion for art can apply to join our Art Team, to help create example projects, assist campers in crafting, and clean up.

Team Leaders

Each year we select a dedicated group of adults, 21 and older, to help guide our teen volunteers. Team Leaders provide guidance to the counselors as well as supporting the campers to ensure the best possible experience.
