Camp Imua 2025: A Week of Joy, Connection, and Maui Magic
This June, we wrapped up the 49th year of Camp Imua, and we’re still glowing from the laughter, adventure, and aloha spirit that filled every moment. For one unforgettable week in Keʻanae, 31 children with special needs and 45 high school volunteer counselors came together to experience something truly magical—an immersive week of fun, growth, and connection that left lasting impressions on everyone involved.
From the opening campfire sing-along with local reggae legend Marty Dread, to daily adventures like horseback riding, beach excursions, and helicopter rides, Camp Imua was packed with highlights that filled hearts and inspired smiles. Campers experienced the thrill of new activities in a safe, inclusive environment, while counselors formed meaningful bonds and discovered new strengths in leadership, empathy, and teamwork.

One of the biggest wins this year was our new and improved counselor training program. For the first time, we hosted a full training day the weekend before camp, giving our team a chance to connect, learn, and grow together before campers even arrived. This extra preparation created a stronger, more confident group of volunteers and allowed camp to run more smoothly and joyfully than ever before.
As always, Camp Imua thrives because of our community. Whether it’s donated meals, in-kind supplies, transportation, or extra helping hands—this camp is built with love and generosity from so many. A huge mahalo to all of our partners, donors, and friends who helped bring Camp Imua 2025 to life. We couldn’t do it without you!

Camp Imua is free for all campers and their families, and much of what makes this possible is our signature fundraiser, Paddle Imua. This year, Paddle Imua is taking place on Sunday, July 13th, and we’d love for you to join us as a paddler, volunteer, donor, or cheerleader on the shore! Your support helps ensure that this life-changing experience continues to grow and thrive for years to come.
As we set our sights on Camp Imua’s 50th anniversary in 2026, we carry with us the joy, friendships, and magic of 2025. Mahalo for believing in our mission—and for being part of the Imua ʻohana.
