15 Years of Stoke, Swell & Support: Paddle Imua Returns July 12
The countdown is officially on!
On Sunday, July 12, paddlers from across Hawaii and around the world will once again gather on Maui’s North Shore for the 15th Annual Paddle Imua, one of the island’s most anticipated ocean sports events and community celebrations. What started as a grassroots fundraiser has grown into a world-class downwind race and ‘ohana festival that brings together hundreds of athletes, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters—all united by one powerful mission: supporting Camp Imua and children with special needs throughout Maui County.
And if the last few years are any indication, this event is going to fill up fast.
Taking place on Maui’s legendary Maliko Run, Paddle Imua welcomes competitors from nearly every corner of the ocean sports world. Whether you paddle, foil, sail, or ride the wind, there’s a division for you. Participants can compete in Stand-Up Paddle (SUP), Prone Paddle, OC1, OC2, OC6, Surf Ski, SUP Foil, Prone Foil, Wing Foil, Kite Foil, Parawing, Windsurfing, Kiting, Sailing, and more. No matter your preferred discipline, Paddle Imua offers an unforgettable ride down one of the most iconic stretches of ocean anywhere in the world.
But Paddle Imua has always been about more than just crossing the finish line.

Every registration helps support Camp Imua, a life-changing overnight summer camp experience for children with special needs. For many paddlers, the most meaningful part of the day isn’t the race itself—it’s arriving at Kanahā Beach Park and meeting the keiki whose lives are impacted by the funds raised through this event.
Of course, once the racing is done, the celebration is just getting started.
This year’s Paddle Imua Ohana Festival promises to be bigger than ever as we celebrate our 15th anniversary. Racers, family members, volunteers, and spectators can enjoy food, music, awards, and one of the most anticipated traditions of the entire event—the Paddle Imua Lucky Draw.
And trust us, you’re going to want tickets.
Already, more than $15,000 worth of prizes have been secured from local businesses, retailers, and event sponsors, making this one of the largest Lucky Draws on Maui. From ocean gear and outdoor equipment to dining experiences, gift certificates, adventures, and exclusive giveaways, the prize table continues to grow every week.

For the first time ever, Lucky Draw tickets are available for advance purchase during registration. That means you can secure your tickets before race day and get ready for your shot at some incredible prizes. Just remember—you must be present at the festival to win!
If you’ve been thinking about registering, now is the time. Paddle Imua has sold out early in recent years, and registration numbers continue to climb as we get closer to race day. Whether you’re chasing a podium finish, tackling your first Maliko Run, or simply looking for an unforgettable day on the water, Paddle Imua offers something for everyone.
Fifteen years ago, a small group of passionate paddlers came together to support Maui’s keiki. Today, that vision has grown into one of Hawaii’s premier ocean events. Join us on July 12 and help us celebrate 15 years of making waves, changing lives, and proving what can happen when an entire community paddles with purpose.
Registration is open now at Paddle Imua!
We’ll see you on the starting line!
